Experiences from families across Thailand
These clients approached us at different points — some just starting to think about their records, others mid-way through a difficult family situation. Each found a different programme useful.

I had always meant to write things down — which accounts, which documents, where they were kept — but I kept putting it off. The Estate Inventory Toolkit gave me a practical structure to do it over a weekend. The templates are sensible and the guided session helped me fill gaps I would not have noticed on my own.
My wife has a copy now. That alone is worth the time.

My father passed away without leaving any instructions. I spent months finding out what he owned and where his documents were kept. That experience made me want to understand the general process properly before the same happened to my own family.
The workshop was plain and factual — no confusing terms, and no pressure to do anything. It clarified where to look for official information, which I genuinely did not know before. I would have liked slightly more time for questions at the end, hence four rather than five stars.

Our family had never spoken openly about these things. Three siblings, two different views on what our parents would want — it was complicated before it even started. The Family Wishes Conversation Programme gave all of us a calm, structured way to talk.
The facilitator did not push any particular outcome. She helped each of us say what we thought and made sure everyone was heard. We left with notes, a clearer picture of where documents were held, and a much better understanding of one another.

I am a retired teacher and I wanted to make sure my records were organised before I needed to rely on my children to sort through everything. The toolkit was thorough without being overwhelming. I worked through it section by section over two weeks.
The contents index is particularly well designed. Everything has a place. I have shared a copy with my eldest daughter and we both feel much calmer about the future.

I booked the Family Wishes programme for my mother and her four adult children. We had been reluctant to bring the subject up directly — it felt too final. But the programme is framed in a way that makes it feel more like getting organised than anything heavier.
We came away with a clear note of where important documents are kept and a shared understanding of what our mother wants. That was the goal, and it was met. I deducted a star only because scheduling across a large family is always tricky — but that is not really Legora's limitation.

As a small business owner, I have been putting off understanding how the inheritance process in Thailand works for years. I assumed it would require a lawyer first. The workshop showed me the general shape of the process clearly enough that I could have a more informed first conversation with a specialist when the time came.
The workshop does not pretend to cover every situation — it is honest about its educational scope — which I found refreshing. The notes they provide are well-structured and I have kept them.

The Boonyasak family
Bangkok · Estate Inventory Toolkit, May 2025
Starting Point
A couple in their sixties had assets spread across two banks, one property title, and several insurance policies. Their children were aware that documents existed but had no idea where they were kept or how to find them in an emergency.
What They Did
Both parents completed the Estate Inventory Toolkit individually, then combined their inventories in a single guided session. The process took approximately three half-days spread across one week. A second copy of the completed index was given to their eldest child.
What Changed
Three gaps were identified: two dormant accounts that had not been updated with current addresses, and a property document that needed verifying. Having the inventory also made their first meeting with a lawyer notably shorter, as the couple could answer questions clearly.
"We did not realise how much we simply held in our heads until we tried to write it down. The toolkit made us honest about what was actually documented and what was not."
Ms Patchara L.
Chiang Rai · Understanding the Process Workshop, June 2025
Starting Point
A single parent with one teenage child had started thinking about what would happen if she were unable to manage her affairs. She had searched online but found the information fragmented and in technical language that was hard to follow.
What She Did
She attended the Understanding the Process workshop, which ran as a small group session of eight participants. The session covered the general shape of how inheritance is handled in Thailand, what official channels exist, and what kind of specialist to approach for different needs.
What Changed
She left with a clear sense of what steps she would eventually need to take and who to involve. She did not feel pressured to act immediately but felt informed enough to make a first appointment with a notary within six weeks. She reported feeling significantly less anxious about the process than before the workshop.
"The workshop did not make my decisions for me — but it made me feel like I understood enough to make them myself when I was ready."
The Supasin family
Bangkok · Family Wishes Conversation Programme, May–June 2025
Starting Point
Three adult siblings had different assumptions about their widowed father's wishes. Their father was in good health but recognised that without a clear family conversation, small disagreements could become larger ones later. No one was comfortable raising the subject directly.
What They Did
The father enrolled the family in the Family Wishes Conversation Programme. Over four structured sessions, the facilitator helped each family member express their perspective and helped the father communicate his own wishes clearly and kindly. Sessions focused on conversation and record-keeping, not legal steps.
What Changed
The family agreed on a shared record of the father's wishes and the location of key documents. Each sibling received a copy. The father subsequently made an appointment with a lawyer, feeling prepared for that conversation. All three siblings described the sessions as more productive than they had expected.
"We had been avoiding this conversation for years because it felt too difficult. The programme made it feel like something we were doing together, not something being done to us."
